Lauren & Cameron’s Magical Woodland Wedding

January 25, 2024

Real Weddings

Lauren & Cameron met when they were both at college. Their love story was already a decade in the making when Cameron popped the question back in 2020 with the help of their 2 beloved children. Their next chapter began surrounded by the twinkling lights of the Christmas tree. A truly magical Christmas!

Their Woodland Wedding Venue

Popping the question proved easy with the help of their wonderful children, but finding the perfect woodland wedding venue proved a little more difficult. The couple felt something was missing from the many venues they had visited until they arrived at Shortflatt Tower. It was love at first sight all over again!

They couldn’t wait to say ‘I do’ in the Woodland Suite, surrounded by ancient trees and magical views. A woodland wedding venue right out of a fairytale.

Preparations For The Big Day

The night before the wedding set the perfect tone for the whimsical day that awaited Lauren and Cameron. The couple loved that Shortflatt Tower had plenty of accommodation for their friends and family to stay the night before, allowing the day to flow smoothly and for the celebrations to begin earlier!

In the company of her mother, daughter and bridesmaids, Lauren enjoyed a relaxed evening filled with laughter (and a few drinks!) whilst they watched the film ‘Bridesmaids’ in Fullerton Cottage.

“From arriving on the Saturday night, it just felt so surreal… It was lovely to feel so relaxed before the big day.”

Their Fairytale Woodland Wedding Day

The weather on Lauren and Cameron’s special day was not quite what they had hoped for but a little shower wasn’t going to stop the couple from enjoying a wedding day nothing short of magical. The rain provided some extra funny memories to write into their story together.

Autumn leaves fell from the surrounding trees as the couple exchanged their vows. The gentle sound of the rain reminded them of their idyllic setting immersed in nature and Helena on the harp was the perfect accompaniment. A special day filled with memories that they will cherish forever, marking the beginning of the next chapter in their love story. An especially memorable moment for the couple was a heartfelt reading from their daughter.

Of course, the celebrations didn’t end with the wedding breakfast. After the guests enjoyed their food, including a delectable halloumi starter, followed by flavourful chicken and a delicious brownie for dessert. The real treat came with the dancing and laughter that followed as the celebrations continued into the night!

Dressing Dreams: Unveiling the Wedding Attire

Lauren’s dress featured an elegant plunging neckline and stunning floral detailing – a perfect match for the woodland wedding venue filled with floral décor supplied by Zoe The Wedding Florist. Lauren fell instantly in love with her dress when she tried it on at Hugo and Elliot. Most importantly, the Ria Tener gown made her feel fantastic on her big day!

Equally sophisticated, Cameron opted for a traditional look, purchasing his timeless black tux from Moss Bros. Of course the look wouldn’t have been complete without a matching mini tux for their son Cillian!

A Few Words From Lauren & Cameron

“We can’t thank Shortflatt Tower enough for helping us to have the most amazing wedding day. It was better than we could have ever imagined.

Our family and friends said they had never seen a venue like it and shared that it was one of the best venues they’d ever seen and been to. Guests were amazed by the Woodland Suite and couldn’t believe how stunning it was. We truly had the most amazing day in a gorgeous venue with beautiful surroundings and lovely rooms and we can’t thank you all enough who were involved in our wedding day for helping make our dream wedding come true.”
