Once upon a time, in the galley of a Jet2 flight, fate had its plans woven for Leigh and Chris. Their paths converged and love found them in the most unexpected of places. As colleagues, they embarked on a journey of friendship, laughter and shared dreams. However, it was in the romantic setting of Druridge Bay in February 2022, that their story took a thrilling turn.

Amidst the picturesque beauty of the bay, Chris knelt down on one knee, his heart brimming with love, and asked Leigh to be his forever. With tears of joy and an exuberant “Yes,” their love story officially began. From that moment on, their lives intertwined, creating a tale of love, devotion, and cherished memories that would shape their future together.

Finding the Perfect Country House Wedding Venue

From the very first glimpse of Shortflatt’s majestic grounds and awe-inspiring tower, Leigh and Chris knew they had found the perfect country house wedding venue. Their hearts were captivated by the charming tower grounds and they instantly knew it was the place where their love story could blossom.

Beyond its breathtaking landscapes, the additional features of the wedding venue proved to be an irresistible bonus. Knowing they could add unique touches to their special day made their decision even more certain. With each detail falling into place, Leigh and Chris felt an overwhelming sense of excitement and anticipation, eagerly awaiting the day when they would exchange vows and begin their journey as a married couple in this magical setting.

Speaking to the newly wedded Reid’s, they found themselves in a delightful conundrum as they couldn’t single out just one highlight of their special day – everything unfolded exactly as they had envisioned. Getting ready before the ceremony was a seamless experience, with Leigh enveloped in the warm embrace of her loved ones, dissolving any trace of nerves. As she gracefully walked down the aisle towards Chris, time seemed to stand still, etching that moment into their hearts for eternity.

The evening celebrations were nothing short of magical, with the newlyweds surrounded by friends and family, all revelling in the joyous atmosphere. Watching their loved ones having a wonderful time, Leigh and Chris couldn’t help but feel immense gratitude for the unforgettable celebration they had crafted together. Every detail came together flawlessly, painting a canvas of cherished memories they would treasure forever.

A Wedding Breakfast for The Ages

Following a heartwarming ceremony, all the guests eagerly gathered around the tables to indulge in a delightful and sumptuous meal.

To commence the culinary journey, guests savoured the flavours of spiced halloumi, complemented by confit cherry tomatoes, chickpeas, and a tantalising tzatziki dressing.

Next came the main course, featuring roasted skin-on chicken breast, artfully paired with pan haggerty potatoes, tarragon-infused tomato and shallot sauce, and a delightful assortment of seasonal vegetables.

The grand finale of the feast was an exquisite homemade treat of sticky toffee pudding, perfectly accompanied by a luscious scoop of ice cream. As spoons met dessert, the heavenly combination received resounding praise from all, the perfect country house wedding dessert.

A Picture-perfect Couple

Our radiant bride was an ethereal vision in her Elysee Vionnet dress, adorned with exquisite lace detailing gracefully cascading down the back. The halter neck design added a touch of sophistication, perfectly complementing the flattering and fitted silhouette she wore with grace and elegance.

As for the dashing groom, Chris exuded charm in a navy check fleck suit sourced from Moss Bros. A classic oatmeal-coloured waistcoat was the perfect choice to harmonise with the neutral colour palette chosen for the flowers and décor. Together, they formed a picture-perfect couple, each flawlessly embodying their unique styles.
