Lucy & Steve's Northeast Nuptials
February 26, 2024
Real Weddings
The couple met working in commercial real estate in London and have since built their lives together! The surreal engagement took place amid the picturesque scenery of the Croatian island of Hvar in October 2022. In December last year, the couple exchanged their vows at St Andrew’s Church in Corbridge, before heading to Shortflatt Tower – the most magical northeast wedding venue.
Their Northeast Wedding Venue
The couple chose a very special place to exchange their vows. They got married at St Andrew’s Church in Corbridge where Lucy’s parents wed over 30 years ago. How romantic! A special place for Lucy’s relations and now for both sides of the family, united in Lucy and Steve’s devotion.
Only a half an hour drive from the church, Shortflatt Tower seemed the ideal place to hold their northeast wedding reception. The couple loved the intimate atmosphere of the Woodland Suite, warming the chill of December as their nearest and dearest arrived making the venue feel instantly like home. The northeast wedding venue was also perfect to host their wonderous wedding breakfast and subsequent celebrations!

The Couple's Northeast Nuptials
The couple found it impossible to pick just one highlight of the day! The drinks reception felt so relaxed and personal creating the most delightful atmosphere. This was further elevated by the spectacular array of food on offer and if that wasn’t enough, the guests were then greeted with espresso martinis as they returned to the main house. Could the day get any better?!
Shortflatt Tower ticked all of the boxes for the couples dream northeast wedding venue! One of their non-negotiables was having the bar close to the dance floor to get the party started! Thankfully the Woodland Suite offered exactly that!
Dressing for a Winter Wedding
Lucy wore the most beautiful snow white dress for their winter wedding! The gown has such an sophisticated shape and exquisite button detaling and was purchased from Mirror Mirror in Islington. A wedding dress straight from a fairytale, except designed by Pronovias rather than a fairy godmother!
Steve’s suite was from Moss Bros and his waistcoat from Oliver Brown. The careful pairing exuded timeless elegance. The couple certainly wowed their guests as they exchanged their vows!

A Local Northeast Wedding Breakfast
The connection with the northeast extended to the fabulous food. The guests tucked into the ‘keeping it local’ sharing board. Everyone commented on how incredible the meat tasted and there was plenty for seconds (and even thirds)! There’s nothing better than locally sourced produce for a northeast wedding reception and the guests certainly agreed, as they cleared their plates!

Supplier Spotlight
Lucy and Steve wish to give a special thank you to their photographer Sean Elliott. Sean took the most beautiful wedding photographs, despite the rain pouring down! But, a shower wasn’t going to stop him from capturing the essense of their love radiating from the beautiful backdrop of their northeast wedding venue.
Ben Foster, their videographer, travelled all the way up from Devon for their big day and the beautiful footage made it 100% worth the journey! A visual testament to their love to be cherished forever.
