Aasiyah & Joshua’s Dream Country House Wedding

Real Weddings

Aasiyah and Joshua first crossed paths back in September 2019 when they were allocated to the same flat in their first year of university. Some would say it was fate that brought them together! Their relationship blossomed over the years that followed. Then, Joshua proposed in August 2021 during a visit to Embleton Bay, one of the couples’ favourite beaches. Joshua couldn’t help but add a touch of puppy love to his display of true love. Their beloved sausage dog Fern popped the question with a note attached to her collar, as Joshua got down on one knee. The couple tied the knot at their dream country house wedding venue 2 years later!

Their Perfect Country House Wedding Venue

Fate struck again when after being let down by a previous venue, the couple found Shortflatt Tower and fell instantly in love. Aasiyah and Joshua were blown away by the onsite accommodation for their nearest and dearest to stay the night before the big day.

The wedding day itself was nothing short of a fairytale. The couple finally said ‘I do’ in an intimate ceremony amongst their closest friends and family, set against a picturesque backdrop of beauteous woodland. The most magical country house wedding venue for a nature-loving couple! Aasiyah and Joshua impressed their guests with their handmade decor, which added charming personal touches to the country house wedding venue.

Finery Fit for a Country House Wedding

In the intricate tapestry of Aasiyah and Joshua’s love story, every detail was carefully woven, and their wedding attire was no exception. Aasiyah’s dress was a work of art designed in Pakistan by Kanwal Malik and meticulously hand-stitched together by a skilled tailor in Yorkshire. Joshua’s suit was equally charming and was sourced from Suit Culture in Jesmond. What a picture-perfect couple! But what made their attire even more enchanting was its seamless integration with the colour scheme of the country house wedding venue.

Indulging in the Wedding Breakfast Delights

One of the undeniable highlights that echoed through the air of Aasiyah and Joshua’s wedding day was the resounding chorus of compliments about the food. The couple and their guests enjoyed a flavourful Indian-themed halal wedding breakfast. The couple thanked Mohammed, the owner of Shortflatt Tower, for going above and beyond to provide the perfect halal spread for their country house wedding.

The feast began with a choice of chicken tikka bites or samosas. Then arrived a delicious main course of butter chicken or lamb biryani. But, no wedding breakfast is complete without a delectable dessert! Thankfully a trio of exquisite Indian desserts graced their tables. This featured soft gulab jamun, velvety pistachio kulfi, and decadent rasmalai. A delicious celebration for all to enjoy!

Supplier Spotlight

The couple lovingly interlaced personal touches into the country house wedding venue by handcrafting all of the decor, from the beautiful floral arrangements to the intricate table decor. But such a picture-perfect wedding would be incomplete without a breathtaking cake! For this, the couple enlisted the help of Fi from Fusionz Cakes. Aasiyah and Joshua granted her complete free reign to work her sweet magic.

The cake was a perfect surprise! Fi incorporated the colours from their decor into the magnificent design whilst making no compromises on the delicious flavour. Their guests were blown away by both the incredible taste and dreamy design. A cake nobody will forget anytime soon!

A Note From Aasiyah & Joshua

“Our wedding event at Shortflatt Tower was an absolute dream come true. From the moment we stepped foot into the manor with our friends and family the night before to when we exchanged our vows in the woodland suite and the joyous celebration that followed. The weather was perfect, and the venue was stunning, providing a picturesque backdrop for our special day.

The ceremony was incredibly emotional, with heartfelt speeches and beautiful music. We’ll cherish those moments forever. The reception was a blast, with delicious food, dancing, photos and the most wonderful, joyous atmosphere. But what made it truly exceptional were the people who shared it with us. The support and love from our loved ones made it a day we will remember for the rest of our lives. It was, without a doubt, the best wedding day we could have ever hoped for.

We cannot thank Mo, Sarah and the rest of the team at Shortflatt Tower enough for going above and beyond from our very first meeting. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful venue with us, we are sure we’ll be back soon as wedding guests!”
